AVONDROOD SAUVIGNON BLANC 2009

This wine is a handselected blend of our mountain Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. It expresses our unique terroir, the rocky mountain slopes above the picturesque Goudini Valley. It is a refreshing, crisp wine with an inviting nose, and a youthful fresh finish. Expressive palate of lemon, grapefruit and passionfruit. The intensity of the wine is overpowering.

VAN RENSBURG CHENIN BLANC 2008

This exquisite wine was made from the best quality, hand selected Chenin Blanc grapes. This BIG Chenin Blanc is cultivated on a section of Avondrood Vineyards way up the mountain where crop yields are extremely low. This barrel selected Chenin is a mouthful of tropical fruit with intense flavour.

NICHOLAS 2008

The Nicholas is a special selection of barrel fermented Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz wine. This is an extraordinary wine celebrating the memory of my father. Nicolaas Christoffel van Rensburg, born in 1923, a school teacher and great rugby Player, who later became the first owner of Avondrood in the late 1950’s. A truly legendary man. The Nicholas is a mouthful op fruit with good structure and will age well within 4 – 5 years.

AVONDROOD SHIRAZ 2007

The grapes of this single vineyard Shiraz were harvested at full ripeness. A traditional style of vinification was applied as Well as ageing in French and American oak for 12 months. It was cultivated on the north facing rockiest part of the mountain slopes of Avondrood above the picturesque Goudini Valley . It is a velvety Shiraz with plenty of backcurrent, oak, blackpepper and spice. This wine has beautiful ageing potential or can be enjoyed now.

AVONDROOD BLUSH PINOTAGE ROSE 2009

It is a pinotage Rose with a beautiful sunset pink colour.                                                                                          
It is a crisp wine, dry and fresh with  a taste that lingers in your mouth .The aroma is very appealing: summer fruit:  strawberry, raspberry and cherry.

VIOGNIER 2007 (LIMITED WINES)

Our Viognier has been harvest at full ripeness. This is a full-bodied wine with floral components, Freshly picked peaches, apricots And spice on the nose with an elegant finish. A rare and exotic wine.

CHARDONNAY 2007 (LIMITED WINES)

This is a beautiful balanced chardonnay wine. It is a selected blend of fruity unwooded Chardonnay. The grapes were cultivated on rocky limy soils which brings along a lot of character to the wine. It is a full bodied wine, brimming with rich butter, apple and citrus on the nose with a defined fresh finish. This wine is excellent with seafood and poultry. Awards Michaelangelo International
